FACULTY EXCHANGE, HEALTH POLYTECHNIC OF SEMARANG, FACULTY OF NURSING (FON), KHON-KAEN UNIVERSITY, THAILAND
Based on MOU between Faculty of Nursing Khon-Kaen University (FON-KKU) and Politeknik Kesehatan Kementerian Kesehatan Semarang (Poltekkes Kemenkes Semarang) dated September 10th 2013, both parties recognize the benefits strong international links. The purposes of this collaboration are to develop academic and educational collaboration and to promote a joint relationship between the Poltekkes Kemenkes Semarang and FON-KKU Thailand.
To implement these forms of cooperation, representatives of individual institute/faculty will be encouraged to consult with each other and to develop specific plans for collaboration. Both institutions undertaken to promote and develop cooperation in the following ways, on a basis of equality and reciprocity in exchange of teaching staff (lectures), exchange of reseachers, exchange of academic information and publications, conducting reciprocal lectures and seminars and cooperating in research and the publication of its result.
At this time, KKU sent DR. Ladawan Panpanit as a lecturer exchange and stayed around 1 month be a lecturer and reseacher at Poltekkes Kemenkes Semarang from 14 June until 15 July 2014. During lecturer exchange, DR. Ladawan Panpanit have several activities , such as: Meeting with faculty members of Nursing Study Program at Poltekkes Kemenkes Semarang and shared information about health systems both countries. She also gave a lecture about Thai health care system and nursing education, Ageing process and age frienly nursing care, and Symptom management at the end of life. DR. Ladawan not only touch at the Diploma 3 and Diploma 4 but She also touch at the Master Program (MST).
Beside that, between KKU and Poltekkes Semarang conducted workshop on “Joint research” the topic is “Health Profile of Older People: How to Measure”. Poltekkes Kemenkes Semarang as a center of Geriatrics in this joint research collaboration is a center for several networking such as University of Muhamadiyah Yogyakarta, STIKES PKU Muhamadyah Surakarta, STIKES Muhamadyah Gombong . The workshop was conducted on 10 July 2014 from 08.00 until 16.30. The workshop activities are overview of health profile, practice on demographic data related to health profile of older people, practice on physical health, practice on mental health, practice on social health, practice on functional abilities and plan of action.
Continuing Program, Joint research program on “Profile of elderly at the Hospital” still going on. The research is conducting in every networking university and the data will be compalized and will be analized comprehensifely between two countries. And the result will be published at the Journal.
In conclusion, The exchange faculty and joint research program are realy impotant and bring benefit between University colaboration. This cooperation is under MOU and MOA between Poltekkes Kemenkes Semarang and FON-KKU Thailand.
