EFEKTIFITAS MOBILISASI 2 JAM POSISI LATERAL DAN 4 JAM POSISI SUPINASI PADA PASIEN TIRAH BARING DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN KASUR UDARA DAN KASUR KAPUK TERHADAP KEJADIAN DEKUBITUS DI RSUP DOKTER SOERADJI TIRTONEGORO KLATEN

Background. Pressure ulcer is a serious problem for immobility patient, which affects length of stay, improves care payment, and retards patients’ rehabilitation program. This study aims to see the effectiveness of mobilization with 2 hours lateral position and 4 hours supination position for bedrest patients utilizing air mattres and cotton mattres for preventing pressure ulcer at dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro General Hospital of Klaten.

Method. The study using Quasi Experiment non random post test only design. The sample was 20 patients suffering from stroke with consciousness alteration that were devided into two groups. The first group was provided turning on bed mobilization with 2 hours lateral position in 30? and 4 hours supination position on air mattress. The second group was also provided the same turning on be mobilization on cotton mattres.

Result. There was 25% from 20 respondends suffering from pressure ulcer included 2 males and 3 females. They were more than 50 years old. From 10 respondents in air mattress group, there was 10% male and female suffering from pressure ulcer. From 10 respondents in cotton mattress group, there was 10% male and 20% femalesuffering from pressure ulcer. The independent t-test resulted there was no significant different of turning on bed mobilisation utilizing air mattress and cotton mattress, p=0,628 (>0,05).

Conclusion. It is concluded that turning on bed mobilization for preventing pressure ulcer on air mattress was not effective as cotton mattress. It is suggested that hospital institution could optimize the utilization of air mattress to look after the bedrest patients, because of its function can distribute pressure on wider area of body. The utilization of cotton mattress can also be defended but should be followed by good turning on bed performance, and well time schedule, apply neatness bedsheet without fold, keep the hygiene of skin and applying lotion for moisterizing to protect dryness, and provide light massage on skin to improve blood flow thus skin perfusion is adequate.
