Praktek kebidanan: Analisis Implementasi Program Kelas Prenatal Di Kota Semarang

Abstract

Antenatal Education Classes is a group of some pregnant woman activity who want  to learn about Maternal Neonatal handbook. It is often run by aan educational person. Data from Health Department of Semarang City, some health services, such as Primary Health Services and Hospitals at Semarang city have run to classes. The objectives of this study is to know how the implementation of antenatal education classes in Semarang city?

This study is a qualitative research, using fenomenology approach. The data was collected by deep interview method. There are four variables contributed in this study which are communication, resourcers, disposition or motivation of implementor, and bereaucratic structure.There are 8 midwives as an informant involving in this study. They are 2 women working in an independent midwife places, 2 in Primary Health Services area, and 3 people in Hospitals surrounding at Semarang City. Triangulasi data was collected from 5 pregnant women, 2 heads of Primary Health Services and 1 as Kasie Kesehatan Keluarga. The data from 16 informants was analised by content analisis.

The result of this study shows that informant are 32 until 57 years old, the length of working experience for 12 until 37  years, and graduated from D 3 dan 4 of midwifery program. All of midwives have been exposured of antenatal education classes training. The classes have been diseminated by Primary Health Service and Hospital by putting announcement on board. Structures of Organisation were not completely yet in Primary Health Service nor  in Hositals. On the other hand, there are no found a structure of antenatal education classes organisation at an independent midwives. Most resources are conducted by midwives who run classes and little some by sponsor. The tools and equipments used for classes are limited and not complete. All of informants have a good perception about the program. There are no effective recording and reporting. There is no routine monitoring specifically on the program running by Health Department.

It is needed on monitoring and routine supervising by Health Department. Moreover,  a crucial approach and an effective socialisation must be conducted on the program especially involving an Indonesian Midwifery Corporation, health social organisation, and health vollunters.
